The tricity\'s green retreat

Panchkula, where the plains meet the pines

If Chandigarh is the tricity\'s brain and Mohali its ambition, Panchkula is its garden. Tucked against the Shivalik foothills in Haryana, it takes its name from the five irrigation channels — panch kula — that once watered this land. Today it\'s known for something greener: the exquisite terraced Mughal gardens at Pinjore, the hilltop shrine of Mansa Devi, and the cool pine slopes of Morni just beyond.

Reaching it from Faridabad is an easy, familiar run. Your cab reaches your gate, loops onto the KMP Expressway and picks up NH-44 north through Panipat, Karnal and Ambala into Panchkula — a smooth, fast highway all the way, with the Shivaliks rising to greet you at the end.

Stand at the top terrace of Pinjore, watch the water step down through three centuries of pavilions, and the whole hot journey melts away.

There\'s the seven-terraced Yadavindra (Pinjore) Gardens with its Rang Mahal and Jal Mahal, the pilgrim rush of Mansa Devi at Navratri, and the lakes and forest of Morni Hills, Haryana\'s only hill station. And Chandigarh sits minutes away. A Faridabad to Panchkula taxi hands you the whole green corner of the tricity with one car and driver.

Six reasons to make the trip

A three-century Mughal garden, a hilltop shrine and Haryana\'s only hill station — here\'s what\'s waiting at the end of NH-44.

Pinjore (Yadavindra) Gardens, Panchkula — Faridabad to Panchkula taxi | EZPZ Cabs

Pinjore (Yadavindra) Gardens

A 17th-century Mughal garden laid out in seven descending terraces, with cypress avenues, water channels and pavilions — one of the finest surviving Mughal gardens in India. Wander the fountains and topiary; it's the jewel of Panchkula.

Pinjore Gardens by night, Panchkula — Faridabad to Panchkula taxi | EZPZ Cabs

Pinjore Gardens by night

After dark the terraces are lit and the fountains glow — the garden takes on a completely different, romantic character. The annual Mango Festival and Baisakhi celebrations here fill the lawns with colour, food and music.

The Rang Mahal, Panchkula — Faridabad to Panchkula taxi | EZPZ Cabs

The Rang Mahal

Set among the terraces, the "palace of colours" is a delicate Mughal pavilion of arches and cool chambers where the royal family once escaped the heat. Its symmetry and the water running beneath it are pure Mughal garden magic.

Terraces & water channels, Panchkula — Faridabad to Panchkula taxi | EZPZ Cabs

Terraces & water channels

The genius of Pinjore is the way water steps down through every level — mirror pools, chutes and fountains linking the Sheesh Mahal, Rang Mahal and Jal Mahal. Walk it top to bottom and the whole garden unfolds like a story.

Green, quiet, endlessly photogenic, Panchkula — Faridabad to Panchkula taxi | EZPZ Cabs

Green, quiet, endlessly photogenic

Beyond the pavilions, Pinjore is simply a beautiful place to slow down — shaded lawns, flower beds, the Shivalik hills as a backdrop. Families picnic, couples wander, and everyone leaves with a camera roll full of green.

Mansa Devi & the Morni hills, Panchkula — Faridabad to Panchkula taxi | EZPZ Cabs

Mansa Devi & the Morni hills

Panchkula is more than the garden — the hilltop Mansa Devi temple draws pilgrims through Navratri, and the pine-clad Morni Hills, Haryana's only hill station, rise just beyond with lakes and cool air. Easy, lovely add-ons.

A little insider timing

When to go — and what\'s on

October to March is the pleasant season for the gardens and the hills. Spring is Pinjore at its most glorious, when the terraces bloom. The Mango Festival at the gardens (around June–July) and Baisakhi fill the lawns with festivity, and Navratri brings huge crowds and colour to Mansa Devi.

The monsoon turns Morni Hills lush and green — lovely, if you don\'t mind a little rain. Summers are warm on the plains, so plan Pinjore for the mornings and evenings and escape up to Morni\'s pines for cooler air. The gardens are floodlit at night, so an evening visit is a treat year-round.

Small joys, big regrets if you skip them

Don\'t leave Panchkula without…

…a slow walk down all seven terraces of the Pinjore Gardens, fountains and all — non-negotiable. …a darshan at hilltop Mansa Devi. …an escape up to the pines and lakes of Morni Hills. …a hop to Chandigarh\'s Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake next door. And a proper Haryanvi-Punjabi meal — kadhi, saag and a tall glass of lassi. Your cab handles all the hopping between them.

Getting out of town, smoothly

The route: Faridabad → NH-44 → Ambala → Panchkula

From Faridabad the cab takes the KMP Expressway around Delhi and joins NH-44 north through Panipat, Karnal and Ambala into Panchkula — about 285 km of fast, well-kept highway with plenty of famous dhabas along the way. It\'s one of the smoothest drives in the north, and the Shivalik hills make a lovely finish.

Making more of it? The whole tricity is right here — Chandigarh and Mohali are minutes away — and the hills at Morni, Kasauli and Shimla rise just beyond. Tell the driver and the trip grows to fit.

Before you book

Faridabad to Panchkula — the questions people actually ask

How much does a Faridabad to Panchkula taxi cost?
A Faridabad to Panchkula one-way cab starts at about ₹3,060 for a hatchback and ₹3,622 for a sedan; SUVs and Innovas cost a little more. That's the base cab fare only — toll, parking, state tax and driver allowance are added as actuals and shown before you confirm.
How far is Panchkula from Faridabad and how long does it take?
About 285 km, roughly 5.5–6 hours door to door. From Faridabad you take the KMP Expressway around Delhi and NH-44 north through Panipat, Karnal and Ambala into Panchkula — a smooth, fast highway the whole way.
Is Panchkula part of the Chandigarh tricity?
Yes — Panchkula sits in Haryana right beside Chandigarh, with Mohali on the other side. The three cities together form the tricity, and it's easy to see all of them on one trip; the drives between are minutes.
Can we cover Pinjore Gardens, Mansa Devi and Morni?
Absolutely — the Pinjore (Yadavindra) Gardens are the star, the hilltop Mansa Devi temple is close by, and the Morni Hills rise a short drive beyond. A comfortable day or two covers them all. Tell us and the driver plans the route.
Where in Faridabad will the cab pick us up?
Anywhere — Sector 21, NIT, Old Faridabad, Ballabgarh, Greater Faridabad or your society gate. Share the address at booking and the driver reaches your door at the hour you choose.
Which car is best for the Panchkula trip?
For two, a hatchback or sedan is ideal. Families ride easiest in an SUV or Innova Crysta, and a group wants a Tempo Traveller. All AC, all with verified chauffeurs.
Can we add Chandigarh to the day?
Easily — Chandigarh's Rock Garden, Rose Garden and Sukhna Lake are minutes from Panchkula. Many travellers pair the Pinjore Gardens with a Chandigarh evening. Tell us and the driver keeps one car with you for both.
Is Panchkula a day trip or should we stay over?
It's about 5.5 hours each way, so a same-day return works for a focused visit. For Pinjore, Mansa Devi, Morni and the tricity at a relaxed pace, one or two nights is far nicer.
Can you take us up to Morni Hills?
Yes — Morni, Haryana's only hill station, is an easy climb from Panchkula with lakes and pine forest. Our drivers handle the hill road comfortably. Tell us at booking and we'll plan the timing.
What is the best time to visit Panchkula?
October to March is pleasant for the gardens and hills. Spring is glorious at Pinjore, and the Mango Festival (around June–July) and Baisakhi fill the gardens with festivity. Navratri is special at Mansa Devi. Summers are warm, so plan for mornings and evenings.
Are toll and taxes included in the fare?
No — the price shown is the base cab fare only. Toll, parking, state tax and driver allowance (₹600/night for overnight trips) are charged as actuals and always shown before you confirm.
