Plan around the safari slots — dawn and mid-afternoon are the golden hours.
November to February is comfortable and green, with active wildlife; March to mid-June is hotter but gives the best tiger odds as animals gather at shrinking water. The core zones (Bijrani, Dhikala) largely close in the monsoon (mid-June to October), when Jhirna and the buffer zones stay open.
Remember: private cars can't enter the park — the safari is by official gypsy with a guide, and permits are booked separately through the forest department (resorts usually help). We simply get you to your resort and the gate, rested and on time.
