For long outstation trips and hill routes, charging infrastructure is still catching up, so a well-maintained diesel or petrol cab is often the safer, faster choice today (more on that in our companion piece).

City run or airport drop? An EV is a lovely, quiet choice. Going to the hills or across states? Ask for a proven long-distance car — you don’t want to plan your trip around charging stops just yet.
